About Us

Founded in 2012 in Minnesota, Diverse Daisies is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization designed to empower girls ages 10-15 with skills, confidence, and experiences that will help them succeed.

Diverse Daisies experience a variety of activities, cultures and life topics at their most impressionable age. We aim to provide a safe and welcoming environment for girls that will increase self-esteem, promote life skills, experience new adventures, and explore personal values.

Diverse Daisies consists of a diverse group of board members and working committee members who are local professionals, passionate community members, and advocates for girls. We meet monthly to discuss programming and strategy and to develop fundraising activities.

Diverse Daisies empowers, motivates and inspires young women of diverse backgrounds by giving them a place to belong, a place to grow.

Our Vision

Our goal is to instill confidence through a safe and positive environment. Each young woman is equipped for their future with skills and confidence to take them through the rest of their lives.

Our Values

1) Empowerment

The ideal age range for Diverse Daisies participation is 10–15. The young women experience a variety of activities, cultures and life topics at their most impressionable age. We create a welcoming environment to learn, grow, and create positive, lasting self-confidence.

2) Friendship

Friendships are created by giving girls a supportive, welcoming, and safe space to express themselves freely without judgement or discrimination.

3) Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

This is a place for every girl to belong and to grow, from every walk of life. There are no barriers to participation.

4) Teamwork

We encourage participants to work as a team, value each other, and respect the right to be different.

5) Communication

We are committed to maintaining open, honest, and ongoing communication with all who are involved with Diverse Daisies. This includes parents, partners, and our supporters.

6) Community

We value and believe in collaborating with other agencies and partners in the community to better serve our mission.
